HiberWorld: A Project for Making Your Own Platformers

HiberWorld: A Project for Making Your Own Platformers on Blog

While platformers have known better times in the Golden Era of Videogames, the genre is still demanded and evolving. Many top platforming games, like Dead Cells, Guacamelee!, or Mega Man, have become megahits recently. But there is even more now: with HiberWorld anyone with minimum skills can create their own platformers.

Make Platformers Like Burgers

Officially this platform is still in its beta phase, but it has shown strong progress over the latest years. Initially an online editor for art installations, now it has grown much more dynamic, with its own gaming engine and unified controls. If HiberWorld goes on like this, it can become a platforming analog of Roblox.

With its editor anyone can design levels and set physics, anyone with even the slightest vision of the future game can try to make it real. The engine is powerful enough to make 3D games with familiar controls and easy mechanics; playing them is fun, and the best of the feature platformers look quite professional.

Chances: Great

No wonder that in the era of Garry’s Mode and Steam Workshop just playing games isn’t enough for the most curious players. They want to make their own worlds, and HiberWorld is the toolkit. You don’t need to install it on your PC, as all the work is done online, in your browser. So all you need to enter HiberWorld is your desire.
